Tom Jones details memory being a 'tearaway' youth who went 'too far' in bad situations
express.co.ukThe Voice UK Coach Sir Tom Jones, 80, has re-worked Bob Dylan’s song More Cup Of Coffee on his new album Surrounded By Time.The singer said particular lyrics from the hit remind him of his youth.
He explained: “Years ago, I was a bit of a tearaway, finding myself in situations and with people I shouldn’t have been with."For me all these years later when I hear the line about going down to the valley below, I don’t just think about the reality of going too far, but also the hangover.“I can’t be that person any more but I start singing that song, and I’m right back there,” he added to Clash Music.The song first appeared on Bob Dylan's 1976 album Desire.Tom has also rerworked I’m Growing Old, a ballad by the late jazz composer Bobby Cole.Harry.
