Zack Sharf Digital News Director Tom Holland said in a new cover story for Men’s Health that he managed to break up a fight in a Los Angeles supermarket because he’s Spider-Man, of course.

Holland has played the web-slinger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War,” and he’s been at the center of three standalone “Spider-Man” movies. “They’re like going at it, right behind me,” Holland said of the supermarket fight, noting that he jumped into it to grab one of the men and pull him away. “I can see that he’s recognized me immediately, and you could see the wheels turning, like, ‘I’m really angry, but Spider-Man is telling me to calm down.’ So, yeah, I go to the supermarket.” While Holland will go out to pick up some groceries, attending public events is a different story.

He told the publication that he often avoids most non-mandatory events, as his attendance can cause quite the scene. If he’s trying to go watch a play in the afternoon, for instance, he calls ahead to ensure he can attend without much public fanfare (“It’s booked in advance, we sort it all out, we call ahead to the theater and make sure we can get somewhere private,” he explained).

Holland is now gearing up for a busy 2025. He has appeared in three “Spider-Man” movies and will be filming a fourth this year.
