The coronavirus pandemic has scuttled another major movie release — and proved a boon for AppleTV+. “Greyhound,” a World War II drama written by and starring Tom Hanks, will now premiere in 100 countries on the six-month-old streaming service and skip a traditional wide release, Deadline reports.
Apple has not announced a new release date. In the drama, produced with Hanks and wife Rita Wilson’s Playtone Productions, the 63-year-old actor plays George Krause, a captain of a Navy destroyer during the Battle of the Atlantic.
