Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

A tiny island off the coast the Skye is looking to double its population. The Isle of Rona in the Inner Hebrides is wild and remote and would be the perfect place to escape the rigours of city living for someone.Currently, the island, which has only 3.6 sq miles of land, has just two permanent inhabitants and four cottages - three of which are available as holiday homes.Lying in the Sound of Raasay, it can be found north of the Isle of Raasay off the east coast of Skye.

The tiny community are now advertising for a live-in couple to move to the island as estate workers. A house is provided overlooking the harbour, and applicants must be up for living in a 'wild and remote' spot.Work would include maintenance of off-grid power and water, paths, woodland and infrastructure.Other tasks would include vehicle maintenance housekeeping and laundry for two-holiday cottages.Red deer stalking and venison processing would also be on the cards, as well as selling produce and welcoming visitors. Don't miss the top culture and heritage stories from around Scotland.
