Michaela Zee Timothée Chalamet’s team offered to pay the $500 fine incurred after the viral Chalamet lookalike contest held in New York City’s Washington Square Park in October, according to the event organizer, YouTuber Anthony Po.
Chalamet made a surprise appearance at his own lookalike contest on Oct. 27, where a throng of attendees gathered under the park’s iconic arch to see the actor’s curly-haired doppelgängers.
The NYPD ultimately ordered the huge crowd to disperse, and Po was issued the $500 fine for hosting a public event without a permit. “They offered to pay the ticket, which is truly funny,” Po said of Chalamet’s team in a recent interview with People.
Although he declined the gesture, the $500 still did not come out of Po’s own pocket; the digital invite app Partiful covered the fine instead.
