Tiger Woods thanked his fellow golfers, including Irish golfer Rory Mcllroy, who wore red and black in his honour at the weekend as the golfer recovers from a serious car crash in hospital.
The golfer was driving alone near Rancho Palos Verdes when his Genesis GV80 crossed the central reservation and flipped over.
The 45-year-old suffered comminuted fractures – a break or splinter of the bone into more than two fragments – in both the upper and lower parts of the tibia and fibula.
In his first public comment since the horror smash, Woods tweeted his heartfelt thanks. It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the tv and saw all the red shirts.
