Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.
Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Tiger King, which dropped on Netflix last month, follows the zany Joe Maldonado-Passage (known at Joe Exotic) as he expands his tiger park and shines a spotlight on his failed business ventures, up and down personal life and his long-running feud with Carole Baskin, owner of Big Cat Rescue.

The programme has become an instant classic thanks to the variety of eccentric characters, and follows the fall of Joe Exotic, who was jailed for 22-years after being found guilty of plotting to murder animal rights activist Carole.

With the 57-year-old currently behind bars in FMC Fort Worth prison, the incarnated star has yet to tune into the seven-part series, but is loving the attention the documentary has brought him.
