Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

A Florida County sheriff has spoken out to deny that there has been a cover-up in the investigation of Tiger King star Carole Baskin's missing husband.

Since Netflix started streaming its documentary, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, the two breakout stars, Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, have been the talk of social media.

While Joe, the former owner of The Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, is serving more than 20 years for plotting to murder Carole Baskin, the Big Cat Rescue owner has been accused herself of being involved in the death of former husband Don Lewis in 1997.

With the investigation into his death being re-opened, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister has denied that there has been a cover-up by law
