Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Tiger King creator brands Joe Exotic ‘categorically racist’ as she reveals ‘very unsettling’ comments were cut from show

TIGER King star Joe Exotic has been described as "categorically racist" by the show's creator. Rebecca Chalkin admitted the wildcat enthusiast had made "very unsettling" comments which were cut from the show.

The popular Netflix series is the true crime story about Joe, 57, who kept a zoo in Oklahoma and his feud with animal rights activist Carole Baskin.

He's currently serving 22 years in prison for hiring a hitman to kill Carole. When pressed about unearthed footage from 2015, which showed him ranting about the fact that as a white man he couldn't use the N-word, Rebecca admitted that similar incidents had occurred during Tiger King filming.
