Two men attacked a shop worker with a baseball bat in one of two 'frightening' robberies in Wigan . The thugs burst into the Tesco Express store in Poolstock Lane and assaulted the man before jumping over the till and stealing cigarettes and cash.
They then fled in a red vehicle, heading in the direction of Wigan town centre. The shop worker escaped the terrifying ordeal, on Thursday, February 6, with minor injuries.
Police believe the incident is linked to another just hours earlier. At about 10.55pm on February 5, two men threatened staff at a McColls store in Wigan Road, Bryn.
They made off with a quantity of cash from the till before fleeing the scene in a red vehicle, heading in an unknown direction.
