A three year old boy has died after police believe he was attacked by a dog in Rochdale. Paramedics rushed to the scene at Carr Lane, Milnrow, shortly after 1pm on Sunday, to reports the youngster had been injured.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead. No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
Greater Manchester Police have said a criminal investigation has been launched following the fatal incident. An air ambulance also attended the scene, with one local person telling the M.E.N that police had been going "backwards and forwards up there all afternoon and evening".
