A man in his 30s has died after a horror crash which left the M61 closed for most the day. The Audi driver was taken to hospital following the smash near Kearsley in Bolton at 5.25am on Friday, but was sadly later pronounced dead.
Police are now appealing for information or dash-cam of the crash. No other vehicles were involved. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information after a fatal road traffic collision in Bolton this morning.
We were called to the northbound M61 to reports an Audi A5 had been involved in a collision at about 5.25am. The M61 was closed for several hours while an investigation was carried out.
It reopened around 3pm. Earlier a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At around 5.30am on Friday 27 May, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the M61 near Kearsley.
