Liam Bailey, 18, appeared in the dock at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court this morning. Two boys, aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also appeared in court.
All three have been charged with the murder of Scott Anderton. Police were called just before 7am on March 25 to reports of a body being found in the Leeds and Liverpool canal.
Emergency services attended and sadly Mr Anderton, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr Bailey, of Diamond Street, Leigh, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
