Katcy Stephan Verve agents Jake Dillman, Matthew Doyle and Devon Schiff are leaving the literary boutique in the wake of Bill Weinstein‘s departure, Variety can confirm.
It appears Weinstein has plans to set up shop on his own, as alluded to in a statement from Verve leadership. “We are aware that Bill may be trying to create his own agency and we wish him the best,” the statement reads. “Since his departure Monday, we have let go of a few additional employees whose visions do not align with the culture and the future of Verve.” Weinstein’s exit came after his yearlong tenure as CEO and and 14 years after he helped launch the agency following Endeavor’s takeover of the William Morris Agency.
The precise reason for his departure is still unknown. Weinstein founded the agency alongside Bryan Besser sand Adam Levine in 2010.
The trio worked their way up together from the mailroom at Endeavor to junior film and TV literary agents in the early 2000s.
