Threave Rovers’ up and down form continued against Girvan on Saturday. The Castle Douglas side were beaten 3-1 by a team currently in mid table in the West of Scotland League’s third division.Boss Danny Dunglinson said: “It was poor individually and collectively.“We didn’t really get going or create any chances and they fully deserved their win.“We’ve not had many league games and looking at our form, prior to Saturday we’d won five and lost five in the last 10.“We said to them before the game Saturday was where we needed to tipped the scales in our favour and go on a wee run.

Unfortunately we tipped it the wrong way.“It’s something we need to address - we’ve got plenty of games to rectify it but we can’t have that keep happening."Euan Smith put the visitors in front but Threave equalised just before the break through Aiden Kerr.Jack Taylor headed Girvan back in front with 20 minutes left before Smith struck again in tremendous fashion to wrap things up.Dunglinson added: "We knew they’d be well organised, which they were.

They sat in and made it difficult for us but when e got level we thought we’d kick on but it just never happened.“I think they had three shots all game and scored three goals.

To be fair to Sam Henderson our goalie I don’t think he could have done anything but they’ve been ruthless with their chances."Saturday is a huge game for Threave as they travel to Kilsyth Athletic, who currently occupy the third and final promotion slot.Threave are three points behind but have four games in hand, meaning their hopes of finishing in the top three are still very much in their own hands.
