Piers Morgan has admitted that the death of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, had “hit him hard”.The former Good Morning Britain presenter paid tribute to His Royal Highness, who died yesterday at the age of 99, online, as did a wave of Britons following the sad news.Earlier today, Piers shared a tribute from the British Army which spoke of an “enormous sadness”.“Of all the tributes paid to Prince Philip, I suspect this would have meant the most to him,” the ITV star wrote online.Alongside a message from Chief of the General Staff General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith, he penned: “He loved the military, and the military loved and deeply respected him - from the lowest to highest ranking servicemen and women.”The 56-year-old shared the footage.
