This Morning viewers have shed tears after telly faves Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford signed off on their last regular Friday show.

Taking to Twitter after finishing his final show, Eamonn told fans: "Bye bye to you all on a Friday folks .... Hopefully see u next February for half-term This Morning.

Thanks for having us and please have a safe and Merry Christmas." He was met with a wave of sympathy, anger and even distress from his followers - many of whom were upset by the line up change.

One fan wrote: "Aww Eamonn & Ruth you had me crying today. So so sad i won’t be spending my Friday mornings with you both." Another shared: "End of an era today, laughing so much at Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langford, gonna miss them and their banter on
