TV psychologist Emma Kenny has opened up about her career transformation after rumours swirled that she was let go from This Morning. The media commentator faced backlash in 2021 for her controversial tweets about Covid lockdown measures, which she shared on X, previously known as Twitter.

It was reported at the time that Emma's now-deleted posts hit out at the government guidelines to stay at home, writing: “I'm going to have parties, see my friends, invite EVERYONE around!

I'm going to visit elderly neighbours and take cake, I'm not wearing a mask and I'm going to do what as a human I was born to do… socialise.” Fans later noticed that she had been missing from the show for a number of months, but Emma later denied she'd been "dropped", writing, “I’ve just signed a new contract with This Morning and count the staff and many presenters as friends. Thanks for the messages of support" on her Twitter account in early January 2021.This Morning also denied the rumours.

Now, speaking on the Secure The Insecure podcast recently, the presenter and author revealed she'd undergone a professional metamorphosis, stating: "So ultimately, whilst I've rebranded, reframed, and recalibrated, and changed the way that I operate in my content, the only thing that matters is the people coming to view it, and they stayed with me." In an earlier part of the conversation, she reflected on the experience of feeling shunned by the public, saying: "You can feel like the world's cancelling you, but what you can't ultimately do is cancel you in people's minds.", reports the Mirror.
