ITV's This Morning has been criticised for falling for a prank about a new TV show featuring Kate Middleton, amidst the chaos caused by the Princess of Wales' Mother's Day snap.

The 42 year old shared an image of herself with her and Prince William's three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, on Sunday, 10 March, but drama ensued after several photo companies pulled the images after it was accused of being Photoshopped.

Kate, who hasn't been officially seen in public since being admitted to hospital for "planned abdominal surgery" in January, later released a statement which said: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing." She added: "I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.

I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day." Naturally, the topic was discussed on Monday's This Morning, with new hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, who were joined by Gyles Brandreth and Ashley James.
