Martin Lewis has issued another warning about Bitcoin scams which fraudulently claim to be supported by the personal finance expert.The Money Saving Expert founder appeared on This Morning to take calls from viewers alongside hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.The star’s advice on finances is trusted by many, but it has also opened the door to scammers promoting services they claim Martin has backed, leaving him to insist that he does not participate in any advertisements.
When a caller into the show mentioned a campaign that Martin was supposedly involved in relating to investing in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, he immediately began to shake his head. “Yes, it’s a scam.
It’s absolutely a scam, I do not do any adverts,” he insisted. Martin explained: “I’m not going to go into whether it’s good or bad, some people love it, some people say it’s destabilising and I certainly wouldn’t put any more money than you can afford to lose in there, but it may well make you a lot of money if it goes right. “The stuff you see on social media, with my face, often with yours as well Holly, we’re together and I’m telling you about some incredible life-changing way that has revolutionised my way is lying, scamming thieves trying to steal your money. “I do not appear in adverts, I do not trump up investments.
