My dad was the best human I ever met. He was the happiest, healthiest and loveliest man who was proud of me for everything – he’d applaud me for just crossing the road.
He always made me feel like I was more than enough. Sadly, he got diagnosed with sepsis at 78 which gave him delirium.That sent him into a psychotic state for around eight months.
He became suspicious and even ran away from home as he thought he was being attacked by the family. At one point, he didn’t even recognise me, and we still really had to fight to get him medication.There were times where he was OK, but there was a constant unrelenting fear that we were going to abandon him.
