He is currently the co-presenter of This Morning (2002–present) and Dancing on Ice (2006–2014, 2018–present) alongside Holly Willoughby. His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

Alison Hammond was left 'devastated' after her This Morning co-host Dermot O'Leary snubbed a personal present she had bought for him.

During Friday's show, which saw the pair co-host while Holly Willoughby is away on holiday, Alison revealed that she had bought Dermot a build a bear which contained a bit of a twist.

It was revealed that the bear had Alison's laugh loaded onto it so that it would make that noise if squeezed, but the gift did not go down quite so well.

Rather than being appreciative and thankful for the quirky gift, Alison joked that he was "devastated" when he opened it. In the clip, Alison - who was chatting to the Coupon Queen's in a Summer Deals segment - said: "I got one for Dermot for Christmas. "He hated it!
