Her tweet followed a post by radio presenter Jo Whiley, 56, who became “really poorly” after a “gorgeous” swim in a nearby river.The BBC Radio 2 DJ wrote: “Since these pics were taken of our chilly but gorgeous river swim, we’ve all been really poorly with bad stomachs which is alarming about the state of our beautiful rivers but also really painful.“Any advice open water swimmers??”Julia replied in a separate tweet: “Sadly the advice is don't swim in UK rivers at the moment...“They are in a dire state & the water companies are being allowed the release raw sewage into them... (sic)“Not to mention agricultural chemical run-off.“#rivercide.
