Alexandra Castellani was standing directly next to a food stall at Flamingo Land when she was suddenly hit by a wave of nausea.

For months after losing her taste and smell from coronavirus, her senses had not returned. Since that day, the 37-year-old from Heaton Mersey has been suffering with a distorted sense of taste and smell - a condition called parosmia, which can be brought on by coronavirus.

She is one of thousands of people who are suffering with the distressing side-effect, which can cause sufferers to feel physically sick when eating or smelling certain foods.
