People across Greater Manchester were looking to the skies in unison on Friday afternoon in the hope of catching a glimpse of the Red Arrows flying past.

The air display team, officially known as The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, flew their distinctive Hawk fast-jets through the region as they made their way from their base at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire to Blackpool Airport.

The journey took around half an hour as they flew over Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire before moving up through the Peak District.

They then passed through Glossop, parts of Oldham and Rochdale. Try MEN Premium for FREE by clicking here for no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features.
