The Young Ones was one of the best loved sitcoms of the 80s and it featured some performers that would go on to be household names and huge stars in their own rights.
In 1982, BBC Two opened the door to four students and their archaic lives, as Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, Christopher Ryan and Nigel Planer played the unforgettable characters Rick, Vyvyan, Mike and Neil.
Each episode would feature an array of special guests, a musical interlude by a pop favourite at the time (or Motorhead as it once was) as well as Alexei Sayle playing various members of the landlord's slightly psychotic family.
The comedy only ran for 12 episodes over two series between 1982 and 1984 but it left a mark on TV comedies that live on today.
