‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ Brokerage Gets Feature Doc Treatment From Campfire & Jed Rothstein
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Jordan Belfort, the real-life Wolf of Wall Street, who was portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese’s movie, set up Stratton Oakmont in the late ‘80s with Danny Porush.
This brokerage, which participated in pump-and-dump schemes as it defrauded shareholders, is set to be the subject of a new feature documentary from the team behind Hulu’s WeWork: Or the Making and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn doc.
Campfire Studios, which was also behind Netflix’s The Menendez Brothers doc and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, has teamed up with director Jed Rothstein for the untitled doc.
It will chart the real story of the notorious brokerage firm, which closed in 1996 before its founders were indicted for securities fraud and money laundering.
