The wildly ambitious burglary gang 'willing to use violence' in a string of raids across Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire

A man convicted of being part of violent burglary gang which stole more than £1m worth of goods has walked free from court. Kieran Pollitt, 24, had denied conspiracy to commit burglary but was convicted by a jury at Manchester Crown Court in Minshull Street.

Before his sentencing eleven other members of the gang were jailed in March for a total of more than 116 years. Pollitt, of Milnrow Precinct, Milnrow, was sentenced to two years, suspended for two years.

He must also observe a curfew for three months from 7pm to 7am. The gang he was linked to were responsible for 58 raids across five counties, the ruthless collective of specialists and hired hands left a trail of victims and caused £230,000 worth of damage.
