‘The Warriors’ actor David Harris dies aged 75

The Warriors, has passed away at the age of 75.The star played the role of Cochise in the cult movie, which follows a gang that travels across New York City after being framed for the murder of a gang leader.Harris’s daughter Davina revealed that he passed away from cancer, according to The New York Times.The actor was born in New York and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, landing his first major role in TV film Judge Horton and the Scottsboro Boys.The Warriors – which was directed by Walter Hill – became his breakthrough role, and despite an initial negative reception, the film has gone on to become a cult classic and has since been reassessed by critics.“It feels great to know that you’re a part of some film that’s history,” Harris told The Five Count in 2014. “Certain actors are blessed enough to get in a film that is just iconic and people are going to talk about for the next thousand years.”Opening up further about its cult status, the star admitted: “We never thought this film would turn out to be an international cult classic.
