A famous philosopher once said hot takes are like buttholes — everyone has one. In 2023, the New York City-based comedian Kareem Rahma took that concept and ran with it creating SubwayTakes, a wildly popular short-form video series that solicits hot takes from on-the-rise normies and celebrities alike.

Now, that show is getting even bigger — and longer — with a new podcast series called SubwayTakes: Uncut, launching with Talkhouse today.

Since its inception, SubwayTakes has had everyone from comedians Cat Cohen and Ronny Chieng to stars like FKA twigs, Charli xcx, and Halsey (and, controversially, politicians Kamala Harris and Tim Walz) on to share their takes on serious but mostly very trivial topics. (A few recent viral takes were on whether its gross to go barefoot in airport security, and if dogs should be let into restaurants.) The SubwayTakes podcast looks like it'll continue that trend of star-studded appearances with Hasan Minhaj tapped as the guest for its inaugural episode.

The free-wheeling 30-minute long episode begins with Minhaj's take: "Restaurants, stop singing 'Happy Birthday' to adults." It eventually devolves into a conversation about Minhaj's hair routine and Rahma's hairless cats.
