UEFA has set a hard and fast deadline to finish domestic seasons, according to the head of Serie A. Football across Europe has been shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, with games still to be completed.

Initially UEFA had intended to finish all domestic leagues, as well as the Champions League and Europa League, by June 30 but there is a growing realisation that the date chosen may be unrealistic.

It's feared that the Scottish Premiership may not be able to resume until September, leaving the question of how to finish the 2019-20 season while still playing the 2020-21 campaign.
