Councillors have given the go-ahead for the development of new residential apartments in the heart of Warrington. At a meeting on Thursday, a committee approved an application to convert 27 and 29 Stanley Street into 10 'trainer flats' for young people.

The committee also granted permission for modifications to both properties, allowing them to be transformed into residential apartments for young people.

Management offices and overnight staff accommodation are also included. The development will maintain the current ground floor use of 29 Stanley Street as a separate unit, while converting the rest of 29 - and the entirety of 27 - from offices into 10 one-bedroom 'trainer flats'. Of the ten apartments, nine will be on a single floor, with one split-level apartment spanning two floors. The application site consists of two Grade II-listed terrace buildings.
