According to the data, property prices fell by an average of nearly £8,000 in the last 12 months in England and Wales. The average home now costs £361,135 - which is 2.2 percent down from £369,100 the previous year.
Some areas saw far larger drops than others, with London being particularly affected. At the top of the list of the 20 cheapest places to live is Middlesbrough town centre.
