Believe it or not, this slick and ultra-stylish holiday house is a remodelled ambulance station. Having featured in design bible Dezeen, it was also shortlisted for the World Architecture Awards.
It feels removed from the bustle of Rye but it’s smack in the centre of town, with excellent pubs a few minutes’ walk away. The house itself has a light-filled, open-plan kitchen, living and dining space, with a double-sided wood-burner centrepiece, perfect to gather around with a board game (there are plenty supplied).
