Scotland is home to a spectacular Category A listed railway station that has previously been named the most beautiful in the UK.
Wemyss Bay Station is situated in Inverclyde, around 30 miles out of Glasgow. The station, which first opened its doors in 1865, was reconstructed in 1903 to cater to an increasing number of passengers.

While few original features remain, its architectural beauty is a sight to behold. The station was designed by renowned Scottish architect James Miller, who also masterminded the redesign of Glasgow Central station around the same period.
