compiled the 12 top areas across the nation to enjoy retirement in, based on factors such as access to healthcare, the amount of green space, closeness to local leisure facilities, and crime rate.As reported by the Scottish Daily Express, the Outer Hebrides is the only area in Scotland to be featured in the list — making it the top place in the country to retire.
The chain of islands off the mainland's west coast, which includes Lewis and Harris, South and North Uist, and Barra, is renowned for its spectacular scenery and is a popular holiday spot amongst Scots.The Outer Hebrides was singled out by Which?
for its high happiness rating and high number of GP surgeries, receiving scores of eight out of 10 and 9.7 out of 10 for happiness and healthcare respectively.
