A little-known car park in the Cairngorms has been named as the most instagrammable dark sky location in the UK. The rural Gleconglass Car Park, which can be found in Ballindalloch in Tomintoul, has been named as one of the best places in the country for a spot of stargazing.
Property developers, Essential Living, ranked it as the most Instagram worthy with nearly half a million tags on the popular social media site.
The rural car park was picked out as an excellent vantage spot not only for superb views of the Milky Way but also for spotting the Northern Lights over the autumn and winter months.This dark sky spot has excellent visibility to the northern, eastern and southern horizons under its luminous skies with minimal light pollution.Speaking about the data, Essential Living posted: "Stargazing is a sure-fire way to feel closer to nature, as well as the people you choose to share the experience with."The peaceful and low-cost nature of this activity means that it is also a great way to help relieve the stress of city life and find your inner peace."If you are going to take some time out in the countryside, then it should go without saying that you want the experience to feel perfect.
