Wiseman wrote and produced the film. It’s his directorial feature debut. The film debuted in competition at the 50th Deauville American Film Festival and won the Canal+ Special Jury Prize.
Set in a near-future “Free State of Florida,” where gun control is outlawed and school shootings have evolved into televised state-sponsored duels, The School Duel follows 13-year-old Sammy as he navigates a chilling competition of survival.
Forced into a violent arena where the victor is celebrated as a hero, Sammy becomes the reluctant protagonist in a brutal spectacle that pushes the boundaries of morality and endurance.
