Lee Pace is set to join Glen Powell in Paramount’s new reimagining of The Running Man, sources confirmed. Edgar Wright is directing the pic he co-wrote with Michael Bacall.
The film is based on the novel by Stephen King that the author published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. The film, which also has cast Josh Brolin, Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian and Daniel Ezra, has a November 21, 2025 release date.
Wright is also co-writing the script with Michael Bacall, and will produce with his producing partner Nira Park and Simon Kinberg.
George Linder will executive produce. The Running Man was made famous by the 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. King’s futuristic novel is a chase thriller set in a dystopian America in the year 2025.
