Thania Garcia WhyHunger, a non-profit working to end world hunger, that cause it, has announced its second annual “Amplified: Annual Hungerthon Kickoff Concert.” The Roots and guitarist Grace Bowers with her band the Hodge Podge will headline the show as part of WhyHunger’s fundraising campaign in New York’s Irving Plaza on Oct.
15. Additional talent from genres including funk, blues, hip- hop, and soul, are set to perform and will be announced at a later time.
Tickets are available now, with ticket funds going towards supporting WhyHunger. In a statement the Roots said, “It’s hard to think of a more worthy goal than helping people worldwide toaccess food.
We’re honored to join WhyHunger for a great night of music and proud to supportthe work they do – making the world a better place.” Bowers added, “It’s a privilege to support the legendary band the Roots for such anincredible cause like WhyHunger.
