That we had achieved what we needed to do.” In all seriousness, McBride said the move to end the series felt “natural,” given that his idea for Season 4 “was a story that was bringing all these themes and these ideas and these characters to a conclusion, to something that felt like completion.” The Righteous Gemstones tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work.
Despite constant bickering, Gemstone family ties run deep, and this season the family’s codependence is tested as they attempt to move forward without letting go of their storied past.
McBride also stars as Jesse Gemstone alongside Adam Devine as Kelvin Gemstone, John Goodman as Eli Gemstone, Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone, and Cassidy Freeman as Amber Gemstone.
