Tom Hanks had an out-of-this-world offer, but he chose to keep his feet firmly on the ground.While chatting with Jimmy Kimmel, the actor confirmed a longstanding rumor that he had a chance to go to space on Jeff Bezos'  Blue Origin rocket.

However, the opportunity wasn't free. The affable actor said he could have boarded the rocket "provided I pay.""It costs like $28 million or something like that," he said. "And I'm doing good, Jimmy — I'm doing good — but I ain't paying $28 million.

You know what, we could simulate the experience of going to space right now."Tom then encouraged everyone in the audience to slouch down in their chairs and shake for four minutes, insinuating that he was mimicking the rocket. "I don't need to spend 28 million.
