The Royal Family may usually spend Christmas together but it seems it’s rather different to how most would celebrate the holidays.

Traditionally the younger members of the family eat in a separate room when the family get together for big meals, and yes, this rule even applies at Christmas .

The Queen , who has recently appointed the new prime minister Liz Truss, may be less traditional than some of her predecessors but this is one rule she has not budged on.

The 96-year-old monarch prefers to enjoy her meals in relative peace and quiet, and has a room set up for the children to dine in while the adults sit together.
