Joe’s son Beau died in 2015 from brain cancer, and the President has spoken openly about how much he misses him, even stating that he should have been the one to become President.

But although Beau wasn’t there to watch his father making history, he was not alone, as someone made sure to be by his graveside at the moment Joe became President.
