The People’s Choice Country Awards Sees Big Night For Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen

The People’s Choice Country Awards made its debut on Thursday night at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. On this night at least, the people’s choice was Jelly Roll, aka Jason Bradley DeFord, who was a winner in four categories.

Hosted by Little Big Town, the show began its live broadcast airing simultaneously on NBC and Peacock. The full list of nominees was revealed in August, with country superstars Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen dominating the nominations.

Kane Brown and Jelly Roll were also top contenders, earning six nominations each. During the evening, honorary awards presented, including the Country Music Icon Award, were presented to Toby Keith by Blake Shelton.
