The family room on the lower-ground floor is a case in point: there is a wing chair upholstered in an acid-yellow large-scale geometric print; the floral rug is a riot of oranges, pinks and greens; and the sofa is upholstered in a difficult-to- describe blue-green – Armstrong’s interior designer, Jo Berryman, hazards ‘spirulina’.
