The typical spend on a wedding dress comes in at £1,500, nearly double the cost of the groom’s suit according to recent research by Hodge, but this is by no means the biggest outgoing when it comes to saying "I do." Feeding your guests is priciest part of Brits wedding day, costing couples over £6,000.
Wedding planner Emma Segal has revealed some budget-friendly ways to offset costs and achieve your dream wedding. Segal advised: "Think seasonal, and where possible local, when it comes to flowers and food (and as many of your suppliers as possible).
For example, peonies might be your favourite flower but importing them from the other side of the world for your Autumn wedding is not going to keep you on budget!
