Some of our driving habits that we think are illegal are actually just myths. A recent survey of 2,000 UK drivers revealed most drivers do not actually know legal fact from fiction when it comes to the Highway Code.

For example, people tend to believe driving in your flip flops or barefoot is illegal, but actually it is not. Many of these habits are not illegal per se, but could lead to careless driving charges if they cause people not to drive safely.

Here are some of the most common myths: Driving in flip flops Nearly half (46 per cent) of people surveyed thought it was illegal to drive in flip flops, according to Manchester Evening News.
