‘The Morning Show’s’ Charlotte Stoudt to Receive Variety’s Showrunner Award at SCAD TVfest

Michaela Zee Charlotte Stoudt, showrunner of Apple TV+’s hit “The Morning Show,” will receive the Variety Showrunner Award at the 12th annual SCAD TVfest.

The festival returns this year in Atlanta from Feb. 7 to Feb. 10 to the new, state-of-the art SCADshow theater. This year, the show received a 2024 Golden Globe nomination for “Best Television Series – Drama” and a 2024 Critics Choice Award nomination for “Best Drama Series.” It was also recognized by the AFI Awards as one of the “Top 10 Television Programs of the Year” in 2023.

Stoudt’s previous television work includes the Netflix limited series “Pieces of Her“ with Toni Collette, six seasons of “Homeland,” “House of Cards” and “Fosse/Verdon.” “We couldn’t stop talking about ‘The Morning Show’ in our office this year, and for good reason: The show continues to be a wild ride, with all sorts of delicious twists, turns and intrigue along the way,” said Variety TV editor Michael Schneider. “Charlotte Stoudt took over as showrunner this season and upped the ante with new stars like Jon Hamm, while further exploring the state of journalism, our nation and our society — and how that all shapes our tricky interpersonal dynamics.
