The boiling hot weather has subsided into something considerably more Mancunian - heavy drizzle. There’s still some sunshine on the horizon for the rest of the week but it will feel considerably cooler, which will stop me from keeling over like a sickly secondary character from a Dickensian novel at least.
Despite welcoming some cooler temperatures, I was slightly alarmed to read that mince pies and selection boxes were already on offer in the supermarkets, Tesco bosses apparently being insistent on catapulting us through our lives at warp speed.
